Head of Omsk Drugs Squad sold heroin at shopping centre
The head of the Omsk Police Drugs Squad has been caught red-handed trying to sell heroin near a shopping centre in the city centre. The buyer claims that he supplied her with the drug "regularly and for a long period of time", Sib.fm's correspondent discovered on 7 October.
According to the Investigative Committee, the head of the Omsk Region's anti-drugs unit, a Police Lieutenant Colonel, was apprehended while trying to sell drugs in the afternoon on 2 October near the Triumph shopping complex in Omsk.
During the arrest, the money he had received from his female customer was seized, along with 0.75 grams of a mixture of heroin and 6-monoacetylmorphine, senior investigator for major crimes Andrei Shikarenko told Sib.fm's correspondent.
The buyer asserts that she "regularly bought drugs from him for a long period of time", Shikarenko added.
Following detainment, the police officer's apartment and workplace were searched and drugs were seized, "the ownership of which is being established", reported an Investigative Committee spokesperson.
A criminal case has been initiated against the policeman under Part 3, Article 30 and Clause B of Part 3, Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code (attempting to illegally sell narcotics on a large scale). The suspect was taken into custody at the request of the investigation, reported the government department.
