Police in the Kazachinsky District of the Krasnoyarsk Krai region evacuated workers from a print shop and cordoned off the building due to an unattended bag. When the Police Chief personally opened it, there turned out to be two sleeping kittens inside. Police plan to keep them, according to a statement from the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs that Sib.fm’s correspondent examined on 10 December.

On 10 December, the Kazachinsky police department in the Krasnoyarsk Krai received a report from the head of a local printing shop about a bag that had been left unattended in a stairwell.

Twenty police officers were immediately sent to the scene to deal with the suspicious object. Law enforcement personnel evacuated the workers and cordoned off the building.

«An inspection by sniffer dogs showed that there were no explosive devices in the bag. Then the chief of the police department opened the zip on the bag and saw two sleeping kittens,» reported a police spokesperson.

The police plan to keep the kittens.

This is not the first such incident in Siberia. Previously, Tomsk riot police cordoned off the area around an apartment building after receiving a call about a suspicious box that was signaled to have explosive material in it by police dogs. However, the box that struck the dogs as suspicious actually contained a white kitten.
