Marilyn Manson to perform in Novosibirsk for the first time in June
American rock band Marilyn Manson is going to perform in Novosibirsk for the first time on 29 June. Tickets will go on sale "in the next few days" and prices will start at 1800 roubles ($50). The band cancelled the Siberian leg of its tour without explanation in early 2013, Sib.fm's correspondent discovered on 25 March.
American group Marilyn Manson will perform in Novosibirsk on 29 June, production centre Siberian Tours has announced on social network VKontakte.
However, according to the concert schedule on the musician's site, a show in Moscow is planned for 27 June and in Kiev on 29 June. The general director of Siberian Tours, Viktor Zakharenko, refused to explain this matter, saying that "everything is already clear". The band were supposed to be one of the headliners of the Park Live festival in Kiev. Ticket sales have been suspended and the organisers have declared that the event is highly likely to be cancelled.
According to Zakharenko, tickets will go on sale "in the next few days" and cost from 1800 to 5000 roubles ($50 to $140). The concert will be held at the Sibir Ice Sports Palace.
The band Marilyn Manson was formed in 1989 under the name Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids. The name of the group comes from the stage name of its vocalist and permanent frontman Marilyn Manson, made up of the first name of actress Marilyn Monroe and the surname of maniac Charles Manson. Over its career, the band has recorded ten studio albums, which have sold 50 million copies worldwide. The image and style of the collective changes dramatically from album to album, and includes elements of glam rock, hardcore, heavy metal and punk rock.
In early 2013, the band's management cancelled performances in Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk and Omsk after a concert in Yekaterinburg, without even explaining the reasons to the organisers. At that, agreements had already been signed and cash deposits sent, said Zakharenko.
The Siberian Tours production centre has organised concerts in Novosibirsk by Scorpions, Roxette, Nazareth, Apocalyptica, Gary Moore, The Offspring, Morcheeba and others.
British band Placebo are to perform on 8 June.
The 2009 Monsters of Rock festival, organised by Siberian Tours, where Alice Cooper, Scorpions, The Rasmus and Kingdom Come were supposed to perform, did not take place due to the stage collapsing before the event.
