The Novosibirsk Vektor research center begin testing Ebola cure on animals
The Vektor State Center of Virology and Biotechnology, located nearby Novosibirsk in Koltsovo will in October begin to run tests of an Ebola remedy on animals infected with the virus.
According to Vesti.ru, the Vektor State Center of Virology and Biotechnology will in October start testing an Ebola cure on animals infected with the virus.
The new treatment is called «Reaferon-LIPINT». According to the Novosibirsk scientists, its universal mechanism of action has already demonstrated efficacy in battling pandemic types of the flu — bird A/H5N1 and swine A/H1N1.
The medicine’s uniqueness stems from the fact that interferon is coated by liposomes — nano-sized bioparticles. This coating allows the medicine to pass straight to the center of the cell where it, in turn, becomes active.
